Japanese Tea Garden

June 9, 2008

It has been four years since the initial inception of this origami concept of mine. Four years and it brewed on and on in the back on my mind. Four years I thought about all the equipments I would have to purchase in order to get the kind of materials I need for this project. Four years I planned to document every potential source of material, the location, the characteristics, etc. Four years I pondered whether there is a point to this, actually doing this, or anything at all for that matter.

Now that it’s four years later, I have not purchased any of the equipments I had in mind. I have a list of things in my head, but far from well documented. And still, I have absolutely no idea what the point is. But for some odd reason, I’m very excited to finally get on to rendering this idea into reality.

What is this thing anyway? This is an audio blog. Without risking too much talk and too little action, I will spare you the grandiose and stick with the facts. I will record sounds from a specific locale and turn them into an etude. Simple. As I move along and have more and more data, a larger structure will begin to take shape and everything will be fine tuned further developed. Eventually everything will work out in the grand scheme of things.

Keep your ears peeled!
